SNV participated in the 7th Edition of Expoferia on Corporate Social Responsibility organised by  Perú 2021 (the Peruvian chapter of the WBCSD) at the Pontificia University from 2 to 4 June 2010.

In Expoferia, Karime Pávez, SNV Advisor, gave a presentation titled “Knowing a Universe of Opportunities: the Base of the Pyramid". During the presentation Karime analysed how companies traditionally focused their strategies on a small segment of clients saturating the market and how the Base of the Pyramid, the low-income sector earning less than 2 USD a day, is becoming an emergent market with great opportunities for pioneering firms.

Karime also presented the Inclusive Business for Consumers model. This type of Inclusive Business creates win-win relationships between consumers and the companies. Consumers win because they receive a better offering of products and services based on their needs and companies win by selling these products and services to a new large-scale segment of the market.

At the SNV's stand, visitors got acquainted with our institution and obtained information about SNV's services and the opportunities existing for companies working with us.

On Friday 30 April, Karime Pávez, SNV's Advisor and specialist in Base of the Pyramid, will conduct a training session called "Knowing a Universe of Opportunities: the Base of the Pyramid". The "training breakfast" will take place in the Communications School of San Martin de Porres' University, Lima, from 8am to 9.30am.

Karime will talk about the potential that this group of low-income people has and how it is becoming an emergent market offering great opportunities to pioneering companies.
Her presentation will focus on Inclusive Businesses with consumers. These initiatives create sustainable and beneficial relationships between consumers and companies.
The challenge is knowing the members of the Base of the pyramid in depth, their habits and behaviours, where do they live, how are they organised, etc. Thanks to that information innovative solutions can be designed and adapted to their reality and their demand.

Peru: SNV & GSRD Foundation join forces for a vocational education initiative to create jobs in the value chain of Globe Grape in Sullana.

The goal of the programme isl to increase the skill level and competitiveness of young adults and to enhance their economic opportunities while improving their livelihoods by integrating them directly into the strategy and core business activities of a select group of local, growing for-profit grape companies.

The objective of the programme is to improve the income and employment of at least 300 low-income young adults in the district of Sullana in the Piura region by developing their labour and entrepreneurial skills and ensuring their inclusion into the value chain of export grape production.
